Project Management Unit (PMU) has been set up at Biotech Consortium India Limited, New Delhi for coordination of various components of NCS-TCP
As the PMU, BCIL is coordinating among the various components of NCS-TCP, to ensure monitoring the implementation of NCS-TCP in addition to organizing important including Apex Committee meetings.
The Major responsibilities of PMU are as follows:
i. Coordinate meetings of the Apex Committee, Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (PMEC) and Technical Working Group
ii. Coordinate with the Accreditation Unit (AU) for timely organization of meetings of PMEC for expedite approvals based on the recommendations of Accreditation Panel for issuance of Certificates of Recognition to Tissue Culture Production Facilities and Certificate of Accreditation to Test Laboratories based on the recommendations of Accreditation Panel following site visits.
iii. Monitor the activities of Accreditation Unit, Accredited Test Laboratories (ATLs) through periodic audits conducted by itself or with the assistance of Accreditation Panel and Referral Laboratories.
iv. Monitor procedural compliance in issuance of certificates by ATLs.
v. Establish online system for monitoring of Accredited Test Laboratories (ATLs) and providing all the appropriate information to the DBT as and when required.
